Campus Photography

The Office of Marketing and Communications is proud to announce that Tim Sofranko has been hired as the University Photographer.

Tim comes to NKU from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, where he was the Photographic Service Coordinator since 2002. His new role at NKU will mirror his position at Colgate, where he served as the university’s primary photographer and collaborated with a staff of designers, writers, editors, and departmental representatives from  admissions, advancement, and alumni relations regarding their publications to reinforce the university’s branding, strategic messaging, and successful marketing strategies through photography.

He initiated very successful new admissions department publications such as “Colgate 24/7,” a documentary photo book comprised of images of campus life during a one-week frame and “This is Where We Call Home,” another documentary photo book about the first-year dorm experience.  He also covered Colgate’s Division I athletic program for use in various publications and fulfilling newspaper requests. Tim also recruited, supervised, and mentored a staff of student photographers.

He was honored by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) twice with a silver award as University Photographer of the Year.  Tim earned his undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from the College of St. Rose (NY) and his master’s in Photography from the State University of New York (SUNY)-New Paltz.
